Paediatric Vision Therapy

Case Study
Artificial Tears
Artificial tears are lubricating eye drops that mimic natural tears and effectively alleviate symptoms of dry, gritty eyes. It is recommended to use preservative-free artificial tears to minimize eye irritation. Additionally, depending on the composition of tears, artificial tears can be classified into lipid-enhancing and moisture-enhancing types. Using artificial tears as needed helps maintain eye moisture and comfort.
Warm compress
Warm compress is a simple home treatment method that raises the temperature of the eyelids, stimulating the meibomian glands to secrete more oil, thus improving tear film stability. Patients can use specialized eyelid warming products or a warm towel for about 15-20 minutes, 1-2 times a day.
眼瞼按摩方法：
向上望時，打圈按壓下眼瞼；
向下望時，打圈按壓上眼瞼。
人工淚液可分為眼藥水及眼藥膏：
眼藥水
Pro: 使用時方便簡單，可在眼球乾澀時直接補充水分。
Con: 水分蒸發較快，若症狀嚴重，需頻密使用。
眼藥膏
Pro: 藥膏狀的人工淚水黏貼度較高，可留存更長時間於眼內， 保持眼睛濕潤。
Con: 因黏貼力強，會造成短暫的視力模糊，所以一般建議在眼睛休息時（如睡前）使用。
孩子嚴重近視
一位家長帶著5歲孩子來檢查後, 發現孩子近視度數達600度。
家長才驚覺孩子平時視力模糊，後悔一直以來都責怪孩子要很近距離看事物。
由於600度屬於深近視，加上孩子需要經常上網課，家長非常緊張和擔心孩子長大後的度數會超過1000度
